What is Carbetocin?

Every year, an estimated 94 000 women die due to bleeding complications related to pregnancy and childbirth. Postpartum haemorrhage (PPH) remains the leading direct cause of maternal mortality worldwide, representing 27.1% of all maternal deaths. The use of uterotonics plays an important role in the prevention and treatment of PPH.
